Maintenance

To keep your ice shelter working at its highest level of performance, you may be interested in routine maintenance.  We offer the following care and maintenance tips to ensure long life and dependable performance from your ice shelter.

Basic Maintenance
Our optional accessory items provide support for our ice shelters.
•
Travel Cover
•
Runner Kit

Detail Maintenance
Approximately once a year, depending on use, you may be interested in performing routine maintenance.
Oil Seat Rails and Other Moving Parts

To maximize movement on the seat rails and other moving parts, we recommend spraying a small amount of WD-40® (or similar lubricant) onto the rails.
•
Dry Tent Out Thoroughly

Make sure your shelter is completely dried out before storing for long periods of time.  You may also remove the tent for off-season storage and store in a plastic container.  Store in a cool dry place and away from rodents.
•
Apply Spray-On Coating to Fabric

For cosmetic purposes you may want to apply a spray on rubber coating.  You can purchase this at a hardware store or home improvement center.  An example of one brand is:

LOC 34894

Loctite Color Guard (Black)

11 oz. CN Aerosol

The spray on coating is purely cosmetic and choosing to apply or not to apply does not enhance the performance of the ice shelter in any way.
